About Us

The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a varied part-time role supporting the day-to-day finance function across multiple group companies.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing supplier invoices, completing bank reconciliations, supporting month-end reporting and ensuring the smooth running of purchase ledger activities. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger & Accounts Administration

● Manage the day-to-day purchase ledger process, including processing supplier invoices, maintaining the accounts inbox and resolving supplier queries.

● Process supplier bills and proforma invoices, ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.

● Maintain accurate accounting records within Xero and Dext, ensuring invoices are correctly coded and VAT is correctly recorded.

Reconciliations & Month-End Support

● Monitor and reconcile company bank accounts and credit card transactions.

● Support monthly financial close activities, including VAT preparation.

● Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure finance processes run smoothly.

Skills & Experience

Essential

● AAT qualified or qualified by experience within an accounts or finance environment.

● Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

● Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

● Experience using Xero/Dext.

● Experience supporting month-end finance processes.

● Experience working across multiple companies or legal entities.
