Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. However training will be given if your attitude and work ethic is stronger than your gardening knowledge.

This role involves working outdoors, tending to various garden areas, and ensuring the health and beauty of plants and landscapes. The Gardener will play a vital role in creating and maintaining aesthetically pleasing environments. Training will be given where needed,

Responsibilities

Perform regular garden maintenance tasks including weeding, pruning, and mulching.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various gardening tasks.
Assist in the planting, growing, and caring for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants.
Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of garden areas.
Carry out landscape maintenance activities such as mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases that may affect growth.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of gardening tools and equipment.
Collaborate with team members to plan garden layouts and seasonal planting schedules.

Skills

Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to gardening tasks.
Strong knowledge of plant care, including growing conditions and maintenance requirements.
Experience in groundskeeping practices to maintain outdoor spaces effectively.
Ability to irrigate gardens properly, ensuring optimal water usage for plant health.
Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for landscape aesthetics.
Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in an outdoor environment.
Good physical fitness to perform manual labour associated with gardening duties.
