About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner who can juggle storytelling, snack distribution, emotional support, and the occasional dinosaur impression—all before lunch. If you can turn a cardboard box into a spaceship and negotiate over toy-sharing disputes, you might be exactly who we need.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children (and their imaginary friends)
Plan and deliver engaging activities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and lots of “why?” questions
Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Master the art of wiping noses, tying shoelaces, and locating missing socks
Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Maintain accurate records (yes, even when someone just told you a 10-minute story about a ladybird)
Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are always met

What We’re Looking For

A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (because you know your stuff)
A genuine passion for working with children (and a high tolerance for glitter)
Creativity, patience, and a good sense of humor
Strong communication skills—fluent in both English and “toddler logic”
Ability to stay calm under pressure (e.g., when two children want the same crayon at the same time)

Salary dependant on experience

We are looking for only qualified childcare professionals

An enhanced DBS check is required.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels happy, valued, and ready to explore
To understand and follow all nursery policies and procedures (yes, even the less exciting ones)
To take responsibility for the welfare of all children in your room, ensuring consistent, high-quality care at all times
To remain vigilant in safeguarding children, reporting any concerns promptly in line with safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures
To manage resources effectively, maintaining ratios while being a supportive team player across rooms when needed
To reflect on daily practice and routines, adapting them to meet each child’s unique needs (because no two little humans are the same!)
To lead engaging, age-appropriate planning and activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and the occasional glitter explosion
To carry out observations and assessments of children’s learning and development, keeping records accurate, up-to-date, and meaningful—including Individual Education Plans for children with SEND
To build strong, genuine bonds with your key children and support colleagues in delivering excellent key person care
To work in partnership with parents and carers, building trusting relationships through open, honest communication
To support the appropriate handling and resolution of complaints or concerns, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times
To act as a positive role model—demonstrating professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm (even on rainy days)
To work flexibly as part of the wider team, supporting colleagues to ensure the nursery runs smoothly day-to-day
To recognise the responsibilities of your role and maintain high standards of conduct that support the nursery’s success
To attend relevant out-of-hours activities such as training, staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and special events
To respect and value all colleagues, children, and families, promoting a positive, inclusive, and diverse environment
To work collaboratively with the management team, embracing new initiatives and supporting improvements in practice
To undertake any other duties as required—because in nursery life, every day can be a little different!
