This is far more than a traditional Room Leader position. We're looking for someone who is passionate about high-quality early years education, enjoys leading and developing others, and wants the opportunity to influence the future direction of our preschool provision.

The Role
As Preschool Room Leader, you'll be responsible for leading our Bloom Room (3-5 years), ensuring every child receives exceptional care and learning experiences whilst inspiring your team to achieve the highest standards.
You'll work closely with the Nursery Management Team to drive quality, support continuous improvement and ensure our preschool children are fully prepared for their transition into school.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll still enjoy spending time with the children whilst mentoring and supporting your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and inspire the Bloom Room team to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
- Create a positive, supportive and professional team culture.
- Coach, mentor and develop practitioners through regular support and role modelling.
- Support induction and ongoing development of new staff.
- Deliver outstanding learning experiences in line with our bespoke curriculum.
- Create engaging environments that encourage curiosity, independence and exploration.
- Ensure planning reflects children's interests, next steps and individual development.
- Lead our preschool transition programme.
- Ensure every child leaves Rooftops feeling confident, independent and emotionally prepared for school.
- Help develop our exciting new Bloom Room garden.
- Lead Forest School experiences, local walks and community projects.
- Maintain exceptional standards of safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing.
- Ensure the room consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted expectations.
- Monitor room practice and continuously drive improvements.
- Celebrate achievements and encourage professional growth.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys leading others and wants to help create something special.
You'll have:
- A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- At least one year's experience as a Room Leader or Preschool Leader.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising staff.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- A passion for creating inspiring learning environments.
- Confidence working in partnership with parents and professionals.
- A proactive, positive and solution-focused approach.
