Job Introduction

Support Worker – Residential Services – Weekend, part-time opportunity: 18–20 hours per week (pattern to be agreed)

Are you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their desired potential? Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, is looking for a Support Worker to join our team.

For this role it is essential that you have a Full UK Manual Driving License.

Peldon Campus, Colchester, CO7

Salary

£12.96 per hour

Hours

Part-time only: 18–20 hours per week (overtime and sleep in shifts available)

Please note, unfortunately we do not offer sponsorships and candidates must have the eligibility to work in the UK.

About the role

Work in partnership with the wider Residential Team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support
Support individuals we support in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips
You will support individuals with personal care needs, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and other daily routines, always promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing
Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions
Drive mobility vehicles, therefore you must have a Full UK Manual License
Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs
Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns

We welcome applications from individuals who

Have experience as a Support Worker, Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader
Have experience working with Autistic individuals, or are able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Autism
Hold a full UK driving licence
Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.
Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area
