Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Lunch Cover to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children during their lunch period. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children. You will play a vital role in ensuring that children are well cared for, engaged, and supported during their mealtime.

Responsibilities

Supervise children during lunch, ensuring they are safe.
Assist with serving food and encouraging healthy eating habits.
To use positive interactions among children, promoting social skills.
Support behaviour management during lunchtime in a calm and effective manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area before, during, and after meals.
Support the overall nursery routine by assisting with transitions to and from lunch, helping the children with tasks such as washing hands and assiting toileting needs.
Commincuate and care for children and manage activites based on play such as playdough, craft, role play, reading stories/singing songs.

Requirements

Previous experience in a nursery or childcare setting is desirable. A minimum of level 2 in childcare is preferred however not essential.
A background in early childhood education would be an advantage
Ability to communicate clearly in English with both children and adults.
A genuine love for working with children and supporting their development.
Capability to drive initiatives that promote positive behaviour among children.
Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to manage individual responsibilities.
Must complete level 2 in food safety on site and complete additonal training if required online/onsite.
