KitchenAssistant. Priesty Fields Care Home

12.76 per hour
28.5 hours per week
Shifts: 8:30am - 6:30am, 3 days per week over a two week rolling rota

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiasticCatering Assistantto join our hospitality team. If you have a passion for food and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Your Role – Enhancing Mealtimes, Enriching Lives

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents. Working closely with our Chef, you'll support all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring every mealtime is a positive and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation: Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and preparing fresh ingredients
Cooking Support: Follow recipes and assist with cooking and presentation of meals
Meal Service: Plate and serve meals, ensuring dietary needs and presentation standards are met
Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils in line with food safety regulations
Stock Control: Help monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, and support inventory checks

What We're Looking For

Experience: Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role is preferred (minimum 1 year desirable)
Training: Food Hygiene Certificate is ideal (training can be provided)
Attitude: A positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and contribute to a resident-focused environment
Team Player: Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents
