Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering, cooking, and delivering excellent service in a fast-paced setting. This position offers valuable experience in the hospitality industry and is suitable for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
Support the catering team in organising ingredients and kitchen supplies
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers to prevent contamination
Assist with stock rotation and inventory checks
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Support the team during busy periods by performing various kitchen-related tasks as needed

Skills

Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety procedures
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Basic serving skills and understanding of customer service principles
Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting
