Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering and exhaust systems.
Replace worn or damaged vehicle components.
Complete timing belt/chain replacements, clutch replacements and engine repairs.
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure faults have been resolved.
Complete job cards and maintain accurate service records.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet workshop deadlines.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Previous experience as a Motor Mechanic or Vehicle Technician.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Good knowledge of petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles.
Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment.
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Desirable

Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Experience working with multiple vehicle manufacturers.
