About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Coach to join our EYP English Speaking of Other Languages (ESOL) Programme Area, on a one-year, 29.6 hours per week, term time only basis, provding maternity cover.

As a Learning Coach, you will take responsibility for a caseload of students predominantly aged between 16 and 18 within EYP. The main purpose of the role is to support individuals to become independent learners through the development of their study skills and employability skills and to provide the necessary help and support for them to progress to positive destinations.

You will have excellent communication skills, an ability to approach difficult issues in a calm and responsible manner and previous experience of coaching young people. You will be able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individual students, staff and guest speakers.

With knowledge of relevant information, advice and guidance you will have a Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent along with a Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English (GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent). You will also have Knowledge of Safeguarding policies relating to young people and knowledge of relevant information, advice and guidance. Knowledge of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) would be an advantage.
