Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with office and administrative experience to contribute to a supportive medical environment. The position is paid and requires a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented approach to patient care.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures
Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
Process payments and organise billing in accordance with practice protocols
Liaise with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies

Qualifications

Previous office experience is essential; experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent
Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards patients and colleagues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
Basic administrative experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
