Full job description

We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and motivated Activities & Fundraising Coordinator to support the delivery of our services for autistic individuals and their carers.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines activity coordination, fundraising, community engagement, volunteer management and operational support. You will help deliver meaningful activities that reduce isolation and promote wellbeing, while also supporting the charity's sustainability through fundraising, donor recruitment and community outreach.

The successful candidate will play an important role in raising the profile of the charity, developing supporter relationships, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Activities

Plan, organise and facilitate a programme of group activities and sessions for autistic individuals and carers.
Arrange venues, bookings and activity logistics.
Complete and maintain risk assessments where required.
Support participants to access activities in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Gather feedback and monitor participation and outcomes.

Fundraising & Income Generation

Deliver fundraising activities and campaigns.
Recruit and engage new monthly donors and supporters.
Develop fundraising tools, resources and promotional materials.
Support community fundraising initiatives and supporter-led events.
Build relationships with local businesses, community groups and supporters.
Help identify opportunities to increase income and supporter engagement.

Marketing & Communications

Create and schedule content for social media platforms.
Develop basic promotional materials using Canva or similar tools.
Support the promotion of activities, events and fundraising campaigns.
Help maintain accurate supporter and participant records using CRM systems.

Volunteer Coordination

Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers.
Ensure volunteers are appropriately briefed and supported.
Maintain positive volunteer relationships and encourage ongoing involvement.

Operations & Administration

Support the day-to-day operations of the charity.
Provide telephone cover when required, responding professionally to enquiries and signposting individuals appropriately.
Monitor and respond to a shared email inbox in a timely and professional manner.
Work within agreed budgets and accurately handle money.
Maintain records of activities, fundraising and expenditure.
Manage your own workload effectively and meet agreed deadlines.

Person Specification

Essential

Experience organising activities, events or community projects.
Understanding of autism spectrum conditions.
Experience working with autistic individuals and/or their carers.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Experience or confidence in fundraising, supporter engagement or community outreach.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Experience handling money and working within budgets.
Experience supporting, coordinating or working alongside volunteers.
Good IT skills, including:
Microsoft Office, Sharepoint
Email and spreadsheet management
Social media platforms
CRM systems (or willingness to learn)
Canva or similar content creation tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional Saturdays.

Skills and Knowledge

· Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people

· Adept at anticipating the needs of our supporters with natural empathy and compassion

· Strong organisational skills able to prioritise, analyse and make clear judgements

· Ability to adapt to frequent interruptions from both the internal team (staff and volunteers) and external (phone calls, visitors etc.)

· Ability to use own initiative and identify efficient and effective solutions to problems

· Strong IT and administrative skills and proficient in using CRMs and Outlook
