Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper/Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting administrative functions to ensure smooth business operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting software and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the efficiency of our organisation.

Duties

Manage and maintain financial records using SAGE accounting software s
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and promptly
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries for management review
Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence organisation
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
Liaise with external accountants or auditors as required
Maintain organised records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents

Qualities

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a similar industry
Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software is essential
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential
