Job Overview

Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist looking for a rewarding role in a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking GP practice? We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist – Care Navigator to join our dedicated team.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting patient access to healthcare services, and helping ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service.

Duties

Greeting patients or visitors, providing a friendly and professional welcoming reception service
Managing telephone and face-to-face and online patient enquiries
Care navigating patients to the most appropriate service or clinician
Booking, amending and cancelling appointments
Processing administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
Supporting the wider practice team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and forms
Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external organisations as needed
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials

Qualifications

Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting or similar environment
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organisational ability
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
Proficiency in using office software programmes such as Microsoft Office or equivalent systems
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in patient care
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
