Temporary Summer Retail Sales Assistant - Join Our Dynamic Team at Uniform Direct!

Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service? Do you thrive in a demanding retail environment and have previous face to face retail experience and experience in working with schools and parents? If so, we invite you to be a part of the Uniform Direct team as a Retail Sales Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the day-to-day operations of the shop, maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
Conduct regular stock checks and process deliveries.
Operate the till with precision, and handle various transactions accurately.
Respond to online/phone orders and assist in changing displays of shop stock.
Attend school marketing events, develop a comprehensive knowledge of school uniforms, and inform customers about the benefits of Uniform Direct.
Contribute to the growth of Uniform Direct by identifying short, medium, and long-term objectives.
Work collaboratively with the team to develop new leads and expand our school portfolio.
Maintain dialogue with schools and stay alert to competitor activities.

Qualifications:

Experience in face to face retail sales.
Punctual and Reliable
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
Ability to meet sales targets through effective upselling.
Organizational skills to maintain a clean and organized sales floor.
Proficiency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries.
Be able to keep your self busy with tasks when the store is quiet and equally be able to work efficiently when the store is busy

Personal Profile:

We are seeking a Retail Sales Assistant with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Being a part of the Uniform Direct team , your primary responsibility will be to provide a one-to-one counter service and excellent customer service to our customers. You will be expected to greet customers as they enter the store, assist them in finding the products they are looking for, answer any questions they may have, and provide guidance. Our retail sales assistant will look after our customers with empathy, accuracy, courtesy and speed.

The majority of our customers are busy working parents that expect our staff to know what their child will need for their particular school and expect our experienced staff to size up a child by sight!.

Previous experience in face-to-face retail customer service and Knowledge of local schools is essential.

Position Details:

Temporary position reporting to the Store Manager/Supervisor.
Contracted hours: 7hrs per week, with flexibility for increased hours (upto full time) based on business demands and peak season.
Must be flexible to work any day of the week which will include working on Saturdays.
Probationary period: Six months.
Annual leave is not allowed during our peak period (15th June to 30th September). If you have any unavailable dates and/or cannot commit to working to the needs of our business, please do not apply
Candidates must be relatively fit, as the store is set over a large area and ladders are frequently used to access stock set up high.
Starting salary: Minimum wage.
Contract ends 30th September with the opportunity to extend for the right candidate
