Full job description

Meadow Vale Carpets, part of the Carpet Style group, is a long-established flooring contractor covering Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. We've been supplying and fitting flooring across domestic and commercial projects since 1981, and we're looking for an experienced estimator to join our team at the Duffield showroom.

About the role

You'll be responsible for producing accurate, timely quotations for a varied workload — from care home refurbishments and commercial fit-outs through to high-end residential projects. Day-to-day this includes:

Taking off quantities from architects' drawings and specifications
Carrying out site surveys and measures where required
Pricing materials, ancillaries and labour
Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers for product pricing and lead times
Producing clear, professional written quotations for clients
Working closely with our directors, operations team and fitters to ensure quotes are commercially sound and deliverable

About you

We're open-minded about background — what matters is that you can produce accurate quotes and communicate clearly with clients, suppliers and our internal team. Ideally you'll bring:

Experience in flooring estimating, or a closely related trade (shopfitting, interiors, construction)
Confidence reading drawings and specifications
A good eye for detail and a methodical approach
Strong written communication for client-facing quotations
A full UK driving licence for site visits

If you're new to flooring but have solid estimating experience elsewhere, we'd still like to hear from you — we'll support you in getting up to speed on products and installation methods.
