Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety, Quality and Compliance Manager specialising in Health and Safety to join our organisation. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent report writing abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management. This position offers an opportunity to lead safety initiatives, promote organisational compliance and foster a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, and update health and safety policies in line with current legislation and best practices.
Conduct regular risk assessments across all operational areas and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Lead investigations into incidents or near-misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, compliance status, and incident investigations for senior management.
Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programmes for staff at all levels.
Monitor adherence to safety procedures through audits and inspections; recommend improvements where needed.
Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies during inspections or audits.
Oversee emergency response planning, including first aid procedures and incident management protocols.
Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation through communication campaigns and engagement activities.

Requirements

At least 10 years experience in health and safety management within a similar industry setting.
Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for diverse audiences.
Demonstrable expertise in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
Proactive attitude with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and compliance requirements within the UK workplace environment.

This role is integral to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality working environment while supporting organisational growth through continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
