COMMUNITY HOSTING AND SUPPORT

NOW HIRING

Experienced Support Worker / Senior Support Worker

Supported Accommodation (16+)

Location: West London (Hounslow, Hayes and surrounding areas)

Support Worker Rate: GBP 14.00 per hour

Senior Support Worker Rate: GBP 15.50 per hour

Waking Nights: Paid at standard hourly rate

Sleep-In Rate: GBP 70.00 per sleep-in shift

Hours: Full-Time, Part-Time and Bank Available

Shift Pattern: Days, evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-in duties as required

ABOUT COMMUNITY HOSTING AND SUPPORT

Community Hosting and Support provides high-quality supported accommodation for young people aged 16-17 within Ofsted-regulated services.

We support young people transitioning from high-risk situations towards safer independence through safeguarding, emotional support, structured routines, practical life skills and positive relationship-building.

Our approach is trauma-informed, child-centred and outcome-focused, ensuring young people feel safe, supported and empowered to achieve positive outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for passionate, resilient and motivated Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to join our specialist supported accommodation services across West London.

You will support young people who may have experienced trauma, exploitation, placement breakdown, missing episodes, emotional or behavioural difficulties, family breakdown or mental health challenges.

This role involves helping young people build independence, stability and confidence while ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing remain at the centre of practice.

As this is a supported accommodation service, staff will play a key role in promoting independence, maintaining a safe environment and supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.

Senior Support Workers will also assist with shift leadership, placement coordination and supporting the wider staff team.

Applicants must have previous experience working with challenging behaviour and within an Ofsted-regulated children’s service, supported accommodation service or residential childcare setting.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting young people with independence and daily living skills
Promoting positive routines, education and wellbeing
Safeguarding young people from risk, exploitation and harm
Building positive and professional relationships
Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
Completing daily logs, incident reports and risk records
Contributing to risk assessments, placement plans and support planning
Producing accurate and professional written reports and documentation
Working alongside social workers and partner agencies
Supporting appointments, education and community engagement
Maintaining professional boundaries and safeguarding standards
Following company policies, safeguarding procedures and Ofsted expectations

ADDITIONAL SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading shifts and supporting staff teams
Supporting safeguarding and risk management oversight
Assisting with placement planning and compliance
Supporting and mentoring new staff members
Liaising with external professionals and management
Supporting audits, monitoring and service development

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience supporting young people within supported accommodation, residential childcare, semi-independent or similar settings
Experience working with young people who present challenging behaviour, emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma-related behaviours or complex needs
Previous experience working within an Ofsted-regulated service
Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries
Strong written communication, report writing and recording skills
Ability to complete professional documentation including daily logs, incident reports, risk assessments, placement plans and support records
Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems and Microsoft Office
Calm, resilient and professional approach to challenging situations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible, reliable and team-focused attitude
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Trauma-informed practice
Understanding of exploitation, contextual safeguarding and missing-from-care risks
Mental health or behavioural support experience
Experience supporting young people transitioning towards independence
Experience leading shifts, mentoring staff or supervising practice for Senior Support Worker applicants

No specific qualification is required. Relevant experience working with young people in supported accommodation, residential childcare or other Ofsted-regulated services is essential.

A driving licence is not essential for this role.
