Head Chef @ The Primrose

Salary: From £40,000 per annum
Working Pattern: 4 days on / 3 days off
Experience Required: Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Head Chef

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and professional Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can lead a team, maintain consistently high standards and take pride in delivering excellent food and service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.
Plan and oversee menus, specials and food preparation.
Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed.
Manage stock levels, ordering and minimise food waste.
Monitor food costs and maintain agreed GP and budget targets.
Train, develop and motivate kitchen staff.
Manage kitchen rotas and staffing requirements.
Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently during busy services.
Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment.
Work closely with management to develop and improve the food offering.
Lead by example and create a positive working environment within the kitchen.

About You

The successful candidate must have:

A minimum of 4 years' experience working as a Head Chef.
Strong leadership and team-management skills.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
A genuine passion for food and maintaining high standards.
A professional attitude and the ability to lead a kitchen team confidently.
