About the Role:

Bangor has a strong network of commercial, transport, and service businesses, and at NSR Automotive Services, we provide dependable vehicle maintenance and customer support for private motorists, company fleets, and commercial clients.

We are looking for an Automotive Service Manager who can oversee daily workshop operations, coordinate service bookings, support technicians, and ensure customers receive clear communication and reliable service.

You will work closely with vehicle technicians, service advisors, parts suppliers, fleet clients, and administrative teams to maintain efficient workflows, high repair standards, and a positive customer experience.

You will have direct responsibility for service performance, workshop scheduling, customer satisfaction, and the coordination of technical work.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Operations:

Manage the daily flow of vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostic work, and repair activities across the workshop.

Service Scheduling:

Coordinate appointments, technician availability, vehicle priorities, and expected completion times.

Customer Communication:

Explain service requirements, repair recommendations, pricing, progress updates, and completion details clearly to customers.

Team Coordination:

Allocate work to technicians and service staff according to experience, workload, urgency, and technical requirements.

Quality Control:

Review completed work, confirm service standards, and ensure vehicles are ready before customer collection or fleet return.

Performance Management:

Monitor workshop productivity, service turnaround times, customer satisfaction, and operational targets.

Repair Authorisation:

Review estimates, explain recommended repairs, and obtain customer or fleet approval before additional work begins.

Parts Coordination:

Work with parts suppliers and internal staff to ensure required components are ordered, received, and available when needed.

Customer Complaints:

Investigate service concerns, identify appropriate solutions, and resolve complaints professionally and fairly.

Health and Safety:

Ensure workshop activities follow health and safety procedures, equipment requirements, and safe working practices.

Technical Support:

Assist service advisors and technicians with work prioritisation, customer concerns, technical information, and escalation decisions.

Fleet Services:

Coordinate servicing and maintenance programmes for business vehicles, commercial fleets, and repeat customers.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of bookings, estimates, work orders, customer approvals, service history, and completed repairs.

Commercial Performance:

Support revenue targets, control unnecessary costs, monitor labour utilisation, and identify opportunities to improve service profitability.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in automotive servicing, workshop operations, aftersales, fleet maintenance, or a related field, including responsibility for coordinating staff or daily operations.

Education:

A recognised automotive qualification, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Automotive Knowledge:

Strong understanding of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repair processes, maintenance schedules, workshop equipment, and parts requirements.

Leadership Skills:

Ability to organise technicians, allocate work, maintain service standards, and provide practical guidance during busy periods.

Customer Service:

Strong ability to communicate with customers, explain technical information clearly, and manage expectations professionally.

Commercial Awareness:

Good understanding of labour utilisation, service pricing, parts costs, workshop efficiency, and customer retention.

Systems Knowledge:

Experience with workshop management systems, booking platforms, invoicing tools, manufacturer systems, or fleet maintenance software is preferred.

Problem Solving:

Ability to assess operational issues, prioritise urgent work, resolve customer concerns, and make sound decisions under pressure.

Communication Skills:

Strong spoken and written English is required, together with the confidence to communicate with customers, technicians, suppliers, and business clients.

Organisation:

Ability to manage multiple vehicles, changing priorities, staff workloads, customer deadlines, and service documentation.

Mindset:

You are organised, commercially aware, and customer-focused. You take ownership of workshop performance, support your team, and remain calm when managing urgent repairs, customer concerns, and operational pressure.

Pay: £3,400.00-£4,000.00 per month
