Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Deli Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional food service and ensuring our deli area operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, following established recipes and presentation standards
Assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and offering suggestions to enhance their experience
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including food displays, utensils, and work surfaces
Ensure all food items are stored properly according to food safety regulations and rotate stock to minimize waste
Upsell additional products such as beverages, snacks, or premium ingredients to increase sales opportunities
Follow all food safety procedures diligently, including proper handling, sanitation practices, and temperature controls
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant settings is highly preferred
Familiarity with serving customers in a retail or hospitality environment enhances your ability to deliver outstanding service
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential
Basic math skills are necessary for handling transactions and portioning ingredients accurately
Kitchen or culinary experience provides a strong foundation for preparing deli items efficiently
Strong time management skills help you prioritize tasks during peak hours while maintaining quality standards
Experience in upselling or suggestive selling techniques can boost sales and improve customer satisfaction

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
