Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and construction sites. The ideal applicant will have a keen eye for colour and finish, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites. This position offers an opportunity to develop your craft within a professional environment committed to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers as necessary.
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative coatings with precision and care.
Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other tools effectively to achieve desired finishes.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or specific requirements.
Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition; report any damages or repairs needed promptly.
Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate finishes for different surfaces or client preferences.

Experience

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable.
Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques.
Ability to work confidently with minimal supervision once trained.
Good communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites.
Familiarity with health & safety procedures relevant to painting and decorating roles.
