Job description
Role Overview
Maintenance Engineer with mechanical bias required to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, plant equipment, and facilities. Responsibilities typically include fault finding, repairs, component replacements, calibration, lubrication management, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. They will work within our small maintenance team and also be willing to help mentor our apprentice on equipment knowledge and maintain compliance documentation for safety and quality standards.
Skill and Qualifications
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge: Strong understanding of machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and general fabrication
- Technical qualifications: Time served engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent recognized mechanical/electrical qualifications
- Experience: Hands-on experience in manufacturing, extrusion and cabling manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Software familiarity: Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Problem-solving and communication skills: Essential for diagnosing faults and coordinating with production teams
Work Environment
Small manufacturing plant with extrusion and cabling machinery, shifts will be Mon - Fri 7.30am – 4pm with 30 minute meal break. Willingness to work outwith these hours to help with breakdowns would be an advantage. The role is hands-on and will involve working in high-speed production environments with continuous production machinery.
Remuneration is Monthly Salaried after successful completion of the 3-month Probationary Period.

· A meticulous individual with strong technical abilities, ideally familiar with a quality-focused factory environment. Previous experience within polymer extrusion or wire/cable manufacturing is a distinct advantage although training will be provided.
· An effective communicator within and between Teams, who can work both independently and within a small, set group.
· Someone with an excellent timekeeping record who is reliable and punctual and can meet the shift requirements.
· An individual looking to secure long term employment where a hard-working, committed attitude is recognised and valued.
