Location: Predominantly based at our customer’s site in Stallingborough, although you will occasionally be required to travel to other locations as required. No nights out envisaged.
Hours: 07:00hrs to 15:30hrs Monday to Friday (includes 30 mins unpaid break). Regular Saturday morning paid at overtime rate (x 1.5)
Role overview: We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused and hard-working HGV Driver & Site Logistics Operative to join a small, flexible team responsible for moving packaged products from a production facility to on-site and satellite warehouse locations. The successful candidate will hold a valid Class 1 HGV licence and counterbalance forklift truck licence and will play an important role in ensuring packaged products are loaded, transported, offloaded, recorded and stored safely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
· Load packaged products safely and securely onto tautliner trailers, ensuring products are handled with care and loads are prepared in line with site procedures.
· Transport packaged products between the production facility, on-site warehouses and satellite warehouse locations using Class 1 HGV vehicles.
· Offload packaged products at warehouse locations and transfer them into stock accurately and efficiently.
· Use the company’s scanner system to record inventory movements and support accurate stock control.
· Operate counterbalance forklift trucks safely and responsibly in production, yard and warehouse environments.
· Carry out “rip and tip” operations as required.
· Remake damaged pallets, re-stack products and shrink-wrap goods to maintain safe and presentable stock.
· Load containers and silo trucks in accordance with site instructions and safe working practices.
· Carry out vehicle, trailer and forklift checks where required, reporting defects or safety concerns promptly.
· Maintain high standards of housekeeping across working areas, including yards, loading areas and warehouse locations.
· Follow all health, safety, environmental and site compliance requirements at all times.
· Support the wider team with general duties commensurate with the role and respond flexibly to operational needs.
Essential Requirements
· Valid Class 1 HGV licence.
· Valid counterbalance forklift truck licence.
· Experience of working in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, yard operations or a similar operational environment.
· Good understanding of safe loading, unloading, load security and workplace transport requirements.
· Ability to use, or quickly learn to use, handheld scanner and inventory systems.
· Willingness to work predominantly at Stallingborough and at other locations when requested.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
