Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Nursery Bank Staff to join our team on a flexible basis. This role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of our nursery, assisting with childcare activities, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all children. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in early childhood education or childcare to contribute to children’s development and well-being while gaining valuable management and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising and engaging children during a variety of activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Support the delivery of age-appropriate educational programmes and play experiences.
Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.
Work collaboratively with full-time staff to implement daily routines and behavioural expectations.
Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents or guardians to foster positive relationships.
Support management in organising resources and preparing materials for activities.
Uphold health and safety standards in line with nursery policies and procedures.
Be adaptable to cover shifts as required, including mornings, afternoons, or occasional evenings.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is essential.
Knowledge of child development principles and best childcare practices.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and organisational skills suitable for managing small groups of children.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A valid driving licence is desirable.
Management experience or leadership potential is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where needed.
A caring attitude, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children are essential.

Pay: £13.15-£13.35 per hour
