Full job description

Join the team at East Grinstead Sports Club — one of the South East’s busiest and most active community sports venues.

Over the past three years we have transformed EGSC. Footfall has grown consistently, a brand new Padel Centre has opened to great success, and major investment in the site is continuing — including a full refit of our kitchen, due to complete within the next two months. Our kitchen serves a busy restaurant, high-volume match day teas, a children’s menu and a growing events programme, and supplies a number of satellite food and beverage kiosks around our large outdoor site.

We are now looking for a reliable, hands-on Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team full-time.

What you will be doing

Preparing food to order in the main kitchen — sandwiches, salads, chips and similar items.
Keeping on top of washing up and general kitchen cleanliness.
Staffing one of our satellite serveries at weekends and other busy times, serving teas, coffees, snacks and hot food from our hot and cold displays.
Providing friendly, efficient service to everyone who visits the club.

What we are looking for

Some experience of food preparation, ideally in a kitchen or catering setting.
Happy to get stuck into washing up and kitchen cleaning as well as food prep.
Confident serving customers directly.
Full flexibility, including regular weekend working.
A reliable, positive team player.
