Group Operations Manager

Location: Woking Town Centre, Surrey
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Arrangement: Office-based
Reporting to: Group Managing Director

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Group Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of a growing group of specialist property businesses covering property insurance claims, specialist leak detection and construction/property reinstatement.

This is a senior management position with responsibility for leading office-based teams, improving operational performance and ensuring departments work efficiently, consistently and professionally. You will act as the key operational link between the Managing Director and the wider team, allowing senior leadership to focus on business development and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations across multiple departments and companies.
Manage, support and hold employees accountable for their performance.
Monitor workloads, deadlines, service levels and outstanding actions.
Oversee leak detection, property claims and construction/reinstatement operations.
Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.
Establish and monitor KPIs and management reporting.
Improve internal processes, systems, communication and accountability.
Monitor customer service and resolve escalated complaints.
Oversee operational costs, invoicing, unbilled work and overdue accounts.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
Maintain oversight of compliance, health and safety and operational risks.
Provide the Managing Director with clear updates on performance, risks and key issues.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

Previous experience in operations, general or departmental management.
Proven experience directly managing employees and holding teams accountable.
Strong leadership, delegation and people-management skills.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple departments and competing priorities.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of cost control.
Confidence working with employees, customers, suppliers and professional clients.
Experience working closely with a Managing Director, business owner or senior leadership team.
A proactive, accountable and hands-on management style.

Experience within property insurance claims, construction, property maintenance, leak detection, water damage or field-service operations would be highly desirable.
