Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the day-to-day financial operations by managing accounts payable, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your enthusiasm and precision will help ensure smooth financial processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of our organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Process and verify accounts payable transactions using various accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, and Workday.
Maintain accurate data entry for all financial records, ensuring completeness and correctness.
Assist with reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly to uphold data integrity.
Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports and updating financial records.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice or payment issues efficiently.
Manage documentation related to financial transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes by suggesting efficiencies and best practices.
PAYE, VAT submissions
Support in preparing annual accounts
Monthly management accounts

Qualifications

Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Workday or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of accounts payable procedures and data entry accuracy.
Knowledge of financial services industry practices is advantageous.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Prior experience in using tools like Xero or Sage for managing financial transactions will be beneficial.
