Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Artisan Baker to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and baking, with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality baked goods. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft artisanal products in a vibrant kitchen environment, contributing to our reputation for exceptional bakery items. Applicants should possess a genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts and a commitment to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of artisanal bread, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
Assist in the development of new baking recipes and product offerings
Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and other specialised tools
Monitor baking processes to ensure consistency in quality, appearance, and flavour
Collaborate with team members to manage production schedules and meet customer demands
Maintain stock levels of ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage practices
Contribute to the overall presentation of baked goods, ensuring they are visually appealing for customers

Skills

Proven experience in food production, baking, or culinary roles within a bakery or restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Skilled in food preparation techniques specific to baking, including dough handling, proofing, and decorating
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Creative flair for developing new baked products that meet customer expectations
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
Previous experience with restaurant or kitchen operations is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
Have previous experience with lamination and bread shaping
