Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Want to use your deckhand experience in a role that makes a real impact? Join us on the Selborne training programme, where you’ll support the next generation of Royal Navy personnel.

Working on replica vessels, you’ll help deliver realistic training in at-sea replenishment—ensuring crews are prepared, capable, and mission-ready.

Job Description:

Full-time role – 37.5 hours a week

HMS Raleigh, Torpoint

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What you’ll be doing

Acting as a line handler / winch operator on the replica ships (Deckhand)
Acting as a safety number during training.
Carrying out maintenance tasks on training equipment.
Ensuring that the maintenance of all authority training equipment is carried out to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme maintained.
Recording the implementation of equipment maintenance to ensure performance is maintained and changes made with the authority agreement in order that maintenance costs can be reduced overtime.
Ensuring company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

Previous experience of deck operations within a marine environment.
Experience of handling ropes and winches
Knowledge of how to use Maintenance Management Systems.
Demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software)
