Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the organisation and delivery of engaging activities for our residents, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and a passion for enhancing the wellbeing of others through meaningful engagement.

Duties

Assist in planning, organising, and facilitating a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
Support residents during activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment at all times.
Help set up activity spaces, including arranging equipment and materials needed for each session.
Encourage participation among residents, promoting social interaction and community spirit.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback to inform future activity planning.
Collaborate with team members to develop new programmes that enhance residents’ quality of life.
Ensure all activity areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Provide support during special events or outings organised by the facility.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with older adults or in a community engagement role is desirable but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents’ needs and preferences.
Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to activity facilitation.
A caring attitude with genuine interest in improving residents’ wellbeing through engaging activities.

Pay: £12.21-£15.89 per hour
