Job Description:

Control Room Operative – Breakdown Recovery

NWVA is seeking Control Room Operatives to manage vehicle breakdown recovery operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Due to continued business expansion, we are looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team at our new Brentwood location.

Location: Brentwood (Officed Based)

Monday to Friday (no weekends) 8-hour fixed shift pattern, on one of the following shifts:

11pm- 7pm

12pm-8pm

Please note that once a shift time has been confirmed, it will become your contractual shift pattern and will not be subject to change.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and assessing vehicle breakdown calls
Dispatching and coordinating recovery vehicles efficiently
Maintaining clear and professional communication with drivers, customers, and partner agencies
Monitoring live jobs and providing accurate updates
Booking and administering jobs within our workflow management software
Ensuring all operations comply with safety and regulatory requirements
Producing reports and completing general administrative duties

About You

Previous experience in a control room, call centre, logistics, customer service, or similar environment
A confident decision-maker who performs well under pressure
Professional, empathetic, and confident telephone manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly customer-focused with excellent attention to detail
Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications
Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
A strong team player
You must have a clean DBS and a willingness to undergo enhanced security vetting
