Full job description

Overview

Promech Machinery Services Ltd is looking for a motivated and reliable Service & Installation Engineer to join our growing team. The role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of a wide range of lifting and materials handling equipment across the UK.

You will work on equipment including:

Goods lifts
Light crane systems
Industrial manipulators
Scissor lift tables
Other bespoke lifting and handling equipment

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical engineering experience who enjoys working on-site, solving problems, and delivering high-quality installations and service work for customers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and commissioning of lifting and handling equipment
Servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
Completing service reports and installation documentation
Liaising professionally with customers on-site
Working away from home Monday to Friday across the UK
Working overtime where required to ensure projects are completed on schedule

Candidate Requirements

Essential

Experience in mechanical installation and/or maintenance engineering
Good practical engineering and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel and stay away during the working week

Desirable

Electrical qualifications or electrical fault-finding experience
Experience working with lifting equipment, cranes, or industrial machinery
CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, or forklift licences (advantageous but not essential)
