Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our small pub on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and culinary arts, with experience in a home cooking environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your cooking talents, contribute to creating delicious dishes, and ensure high standards of food safety and presentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in meal preparation for lunch and dinner services
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils and equipment
Monitor stock levels and notify management of supply requirements
Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks
Serve food to customers when required, ensuring a friendly and professional service
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience working in a restaurant or similar setting is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work full-time hours, including weekends if necessary
Passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn new techniques and recipes
