Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in patients' lives. This position is paid and suitable for those looking to develop their career within the healthcare sector.

Duties

Assist residents with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents and clients
Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families regarding care needs and progress
Support with light domestic tasks within care environments, including cleaning and organising communal areas
Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as required (driving skills advantageous)
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to operate IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel or community outings
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow care plans accurately
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
