Overview

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Mental Health Support Workers to join our team in a residential mental health home. This rewarding role involves supporting adults with mental health needs to live as independently as possible while promoting their wellbeing, dignity, and recovery.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred care and support within a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. You will work closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to help individuals achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Provide emotional and practical support to residents with mental health needs.

Promote independence, confidence, and daily living skills.

Support residents with personal care where required.

Encourage participation in social, recreational, and community activities.

Build positive, professional relationships with residents and their support networks.

Monitor and report changes in residents' mental and physical wellbeing.

Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required.

Follow care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and company policies.

Support residents in managing appointments, medication routines, and daily activities where appropriate.

Contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive living environment.

What We're Looking For

A caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.

Previous experience in mental health, social care, supported living, or residential care is desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A commitment to promoting equality, dignity, and respect.

Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays if required.

NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not essential).
