Full job description

Position: MOT Tester

Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum DOE + Overtime

Hours: 40 /week 08:30-17:00 MON-FRI *NO WEEKENDS!

Location: Richmond Botley, SO30 2EU

*** A valid MOT Licence & Full Manual UK Driving Licence is essential for this role ***

Richmond Motor Group are a highly successful, family run multi-franchise group of dealerships. Since our inception in 1995 we have won many industry awards and accolades, including several from the manufacturers that we are partnered with.

We are currently looking for an MOT Tester to join our busy aftersales team at our dealership in Botley, where you’ll be working alongside a very strong existing team of dedicated and knowledgeable staff in a modern and fully equipped workshop.

Aside from a competitive salary, we offer great work-life balance with no weekend working within your standard weekly hours. Overtime is available on both weekdays and weekends and paid at time and a half!

For the right candidate, we also offer the opportunity to gain qualifications and certifications within: Hybrid, EV, High Voltage, F-Gas, and manufacturer accreditations with MG and Škoda.

As our MOT Tester, you'll be:

Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
Identifying, recording and explaining MOT failures and advisory items.
Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and completing MOT retests.
Completing MOT documentation and maintaining accurate digital records.
Carrying out Vehicle Health Checks (eVHCs) and supporting vehicle inspections.
Supporting the workshop with routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs during quieter periods.

Ideally, you are:

A proven MOT Tester with at least 2 years exposure working within a similar Mechanic, Service Technician, Vehicle Technician or Master Technician role.
Level 3 Qualified (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent).
A Class 4 MOT Tester with a valid licence.
