Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Takeaway Assistant to join our team during the late shift. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food service and culinary arts, looking to gain experience in a busy takeaway environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations during the evening hours, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting food preparation processes.

Duties

Prepare and package takeaway orders efficiently and accurately
Assist with meal and food preparation in line with food safety standards
Serve customers at the counter or via telephone, providing friendly and professional service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and serving areas
Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems accurately
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Support the team in maintaining stock levels and restocking supplies as needed
Assist with cleaning duties at the end of each shift to ensure a hygienic environment
Shifts will be 15:00 - 01:00 and 20:00 to 01:00

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and a friendly manner when serving customers
Experience in meal preparation, food handling, or kitchen work is advantageous
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team during late shifts
