Full job description

Job Title: Part-time Finance Administrator

Hours of work: This is a part-time, permanent position, 16 hours per week (worked over 5 days) (Mon to Fri – Negotiable between 9:00am till 3:00pm).

Salary: FTE £27,500 - £29,500 dependent on experience.

The Role

We are looking for a part-time Finance Administrator (16 hours per week) to join our friendly and busy team, the role requires someone with credit control and finance/administration experience, with the experience and confidence to pick up the phone and speak to legal professionals with a friendly yet professional approach.

The ideal candidate will be able to foster a positive and nurturing work environment but being able to manage challenging situations when required.

The main responsibilities of the Finance Administrator role are (but not limited to):

Credit Control

Assist with monitoring outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate aged debt records.
Contact clients, solicitors and insurers regarding outstanding invoices.
Follow up overdue accounts by email and telephone in a professional and friendly manner.
Record all credit-control activity accurately on the relevant systems.
Escalate overdue or complex accounts to the Finance Co-Ordinator when appropriate.
Assist with resolving payment queries and investigating discrepancies.
Follow agreed credit-control processes and timescales.
Help ensure payments are allocated accurately and promptly.

Finance Administration

Support the preparation and processing of sales invoices.
Check invoice information for accuracy before invoices are issued.
Assist with credit notes, adjustments and account queries.
Assist with reconciling accounts and identifying outstanding balances.
To ensure the internal equipment list is kept fully up to date with leavers, starters and any additional changes within the team.
Provide general administrative support to the finance & operations team.
Ensure financial information is handled confidentially and securely.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for this will have:

Previous minimum 2 years experience within finance and credit control preferably in a small to medium-sized business and not a large company.
Experience with Xero accounting software
Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic numerical ability and confidence working with figures.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Professional and confident telephone manner.
Experience of working within a healthcare, professional services or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
