Full job description

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and friendly individual to join our team. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our fish and chip shop.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Great customers in a warm and friendly manner, take orders, and assist with any questions or concerns. Provide recommendations and suggestions based on customer preferences. Maintain a clean and inviting area for customers.

Order Management: Ensure accurate order taking, process payments, and handle cash transactions. Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders. Double-check orders for accuracy before serving them to customers.

Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Follow proper handling, storage, and cooking procedures to maintain the highest levels of food safety. Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized.

Stock Management: Monitor and replenish stock levels of food ingredients, beverages, and packaging materials. Notify the supervisor or manager when supplies need to be reordered. Keep track of inventory and assist with periodic stocktaking.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Clean cooking equipment, counters, and floors regularly. Dispose of waste and recyclable materials properly. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Assist coworkers when needed, especially during busy periods. Foster a positive work atmosphere and contribute to a friendly and productive team environment.

Requirements:

Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the food service industry, is desirable but not mandatory.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with customers.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
