We’re looking for someone who is proactive, empathetic, and energised by helping students navigate university life — academically, personally, and professionally. You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to improving student belonging, engagement, and outcomes.

The Student Success Coach plays a central role in fostering student engagement, wellbeing, and academic progression across the student lifecycle. Working closely with academic colleagues and specialist support services, the post holder will provide proactive, personalised, and data‑informed support to help students thrive, overcome challenges, and successfully progress through their programme. The role combines 1:1 coaching, group support, early‑intervention outreach, and ongoing case management to strengthen student belonging, attainment, and retention.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

Builds rapport quickly and communicates with warmth and clarity.
Is confident working with sensitive or complex situations.
Is comfortable engaging 1:1, with classroom size groups and full lecture theatres.
Can interpret data and use it to inform decisions.
Is organised, adaptable, and able to manage a varied caseload.
Understands the challenges students face and is motivated to help them succeed.

Experience in coaching, mentoring, student support, or advisory roles is beneficial — but above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about student success.

The role requires staff to be on site during semester time as the post holders will be delivering group coaching and 1:1 appointments as well as delivering the student success module as part of the taught curriculum. Hybrid working will be available through vacation periods.
