Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves handling a variety of warehouse tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, along with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in materials handling, stock management, and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately
Picking and packing orders to ensure correct items are prepared for dispatch
Stocking shelves and organising stock to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying deliveries and preparing shipments
Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times during daily operations
Supporting other team members with general warehouse duties as required

Requirements

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety protocols
Valid forklift licence is desirable; however, training can be arranged for suitable candidates
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is beneficial
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is a plus
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings or late shifts if necessary
