Job Overview

Job Duties: The role focus on the social, educational, and personal development of young people (e.g., mentoring, community guidance, crisis support).
Designing developmental activities, providing crisis/stress support, and managing program budgets and volunteers

Skills

Leading and motivating a team of youth workers.
Planning and organising youth programmes and activities.
Delegating responsibilities effectively.
Managing budgets, resources, and facilities.
Making informed decisions and solving problems.
Building positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Listening actively and showing empathy.
Communicating clearly with staff, parents, schools, and partner organisations.
Handling difficult conversations and resolving conflicts
Understanding child and adolescent development.
Supporting young people's emotional, social, and personal growth.
Encouraging participation, confidence, and independence.
Promoting equality, diversity, and social inclusion
Recognising signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Following safeguarding policies and reporting concerns appropriately.
Promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of young people.
Maintaining professional boundaries
Designing engaging activities that meet young people's needs.
Assessing risks and ensuring activities are safe.
Monitoring attendance and evaluating programme outcomes.
Managing time effectively and meeting deadlines.
Working with schools, community groups, local authorities, and other agencies.
Supporting and mentoring staff and volunteers.
Building partnerships to improve opportunities for young people
