Job Description – 7.5T Crane Lorry Driver

William Hercock Limited; a truly independent family-owned Builders Merchant. From our three depots across Leicestershire and Rutland, we offer an extensive range of building products for Tradesmen, DIY enthusiast, self-builders and more.

We are currently recruiting for a 7.5t Crane Lorry driver to work out of our Birstall Branch.

The successful applicant will be delivering general building materials around Leicestershire.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following attributes:

· Reliable, hardworking and trustworthy

· Physically fit

· Have a positive attitude & willingness to learn

· Have an up to date Driver CPC Certificate

· Have Hiab Crane license (Hiab training can be given).

Summary

As a Crane Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will utilise your core skills in commercial driving and flatbed operation to navigate routes efficiently. Your experience as a delivery driver will be invaluable in maintaining high standards of service and compliance with safety regulations. The organisation expects you to demonstrate professionalism and reliability while representing our commitment to customer satisfaction on the road. Join our team and contribute to our logistics success.

Responsibilities

Operate a 7.5t Crane Lorry safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.

Deliver goods to designated locations, maintaining accurate delivery records.

Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring secure transport.

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and communicate effectively with clients.

Report any vehicle issues or incidents to management promptly.

Job Type: Full-time. 7:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
