Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with diverse needs within a nurturing and inclusive environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young lives while developing your skills in early childhood education and childcare.

Duties

Provide personalised support to children with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
Assist in planning and implementing tailored learning activities that promote developmental progress.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and review support plans.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and socialisation.
Support children during daily routines, including play, meal times, and rest periods.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour, adhering to safeguarding policies.
Promote positive behaviour management strategies aligned with organisational policies.
Assist with transporting children when necessary, ensuring safety during travel.

Skills

Proven experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities.
Strong management and leadership skills to guide and support children effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of liaising confidently with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual children's needs creatively and patiently.
Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external appointments.
Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to supporting children's development and wellbeing. This role offers an enriching environment for those passionate about early childhood education and inclusive practice, providing valuable experience in a supportive team setting.
