Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient female Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food safety, barista techniques, and food presentation while working in a dynamic café setting. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The Cafe Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring our customers enjoy a positive experience from their visit.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to quality standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks in line with health and safety guidelines.
Serve customers efficiently at the counter or table, providing friendly and attentive service.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including counters, equipment, and dining spaces, following food safety regulations.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system and manage basic maths calculations for change.
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts.
Follow all health and safety procedures related to food handling and hygiene standards.

Requirements

Knowledge of food safety standards is essential; previous experience as a barista or in serving roles is desirable.
Ability to perform food preparation tasks with attention to detail and cleanliness.
Good organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic maths skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour towards customers.
Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required; previous experience in similar settings is advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills while contributing to an enjoyable customer experience. Pay: £12.21-£14.66 per hour
