Role Purpose
The Site Lead holds full operational accountability for the day-to-day running of their site, ensuring that provision, staff practice and safeguarding meet Full Inisght Ltd standards, statutory guidance and local authority expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a visible and decisive presence throughout the day. The Site Lead is responsible for staff performance, learner outcomes, safeguarding practice and the consistent implementation of policies in real time.
In addition, the Site Lead is responsible for learner recruitment and site occupancy, working proactively with schools and the Local Authority to ensure placements align with site capacity and KPIs. The post holder will provide weekly reporting to the Director of Operations on recruitment activity, pipeline and performance against site KPIs.
As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Site Lead will lead safeguarding practice on site under the direction of the organisational DSL, ensuring all concerns are managed effectively, recorded accurately and escalated appropriately.

Day-to-Day Site Leadership & Accountability

The Site Lead will:
- Take full accountability for the daily operational running of the site
- Act as the senior decision-maker on site during operational hours
- Lead daily briefings and maintain oversight of routines, structure and transitions
- Deploy staff effectively to meet learner needs, ratios and risk assessments
- Maintain a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment at all times
- Ensure all just-football limited policies and procedures are consistently implemented in practice
- Step into classrooms or situations where required to maintain standards and safety

Safeguarding Leadership – Deputy DSL

The Site Lead will:
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and lead safeguarding practice on site
- Make informed decisions in response to safeguarding concerns, including escalation and referrals
- Ensure all safeguarding concerns are recorded accurately, promptly and to a high standard
- Work closely with the organisational DSL on complex cases and follow-up actions
- Attend and contribute to safeguarding and child protection meetings as required
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring vigilance and accountability across the team

Learner Recruitment, Placement & KPI Accountability
The Site Lead will:
- Lead on learner recruitment for the site, ensuring occupancy aligns with agreed capacity and KPIs
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local schools, commissioners and Local Authority partners
- Act as a key point of contact for placement enquiries and referrals
- Assess suitability of referrals in line with site provision, risk and learner need
- Maintain oversight of the referral pipeline, transitions and admissions process
- Track and analyse recruitment performance against site KPIs
- Provide weekly reports to the Director of Operations outlining:
- Current site occupancy
- Referral pipeline and conversion rates
- Engagement with schools and Local Authority
- Risks to recruitment targets and proposed actions

Learner Meetings & Multi-Agency Working

The Site Lead will:
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including:
- CIN meetings
- TAF meetings
- Child Protection meetings
- Professional reviews and planning meetings
- Ensure agreed actions are implemented consistently within daily practice
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, schools and external professionals
- Ensure multi-agency input directly informs provision and support strategies

SEND Practice & Curriculum Adaptation

The Site Lead will:
- Work closely with SENCOs to embed SEND strategies into daily practice
- Ensure staff consistently implement EHCPs, support plans and risk assessments
- Adapt provision, environment and curriculum to meet individual learner needs
- Monitor the impact of strategies in real time and adjust provision accordingly
- Provide feedback to SENCOs to support continuous improvement

Quality Assurance, Monitoring & Documentation

The Site Lead will:
- Ensure site practice meets inspection-ready standards at all times
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation relating to safeguarding, SEND and provision
- Implement and evidence actions identified through QA processes and audits
- Provide clear written updates and reports as required
- Contribute to self-evaluation and ongoing improvement planning
- Ensure senior leaders have accurate, current oversight of site performance

Staff Oversight & Professional Practice
The Site Lead will:
- Provide clear direction and leadership to staff throughout the day
- Monitor staff performance and intervene where practice falls below expectations
- Hold staff accountable for professional standards and conduct
- Model trauma-informed, consistent and child-centred practice
- Support staff understanding of safeguarding and SEND responsibilities
- Escalate concerns regarding staff practice in line with just-football limited procedures

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Proven leadership experience within an education or alternative provision setting
- Qualified Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or willingness to obtain immediately
- Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and SEND in education
- Experience managing staff and leading day-to-day operations
- Experience working with schools, Local Authorities or external agencies
- Ability to manage referrals, placements or learner recruitment processes
- Strong organisational, communication and reporting skills
- Ability to produce clear, accurate written records
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within Alternative Provision or PRU settings
- Experience supporting SEND and SEMH learners
- Experience contributing to QA, audits or inspection processes
- Leadership or management qualifications/training
