Location: Hartlepool

Salary: £30,014.40 per annum + £40 per sleep-in shift, enhanced overtime rates, and mileage allowance

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)

Committed Support are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join their children's residential service in Hartlepool.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment while helping to lead and develop a team of Residential Support Workers.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered at all times. You will act as a positive role model for both staff and young people, promoting a therapeutic and child-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, support, and mentor Residential Support Workers within the home.
Deliver high-quality care and support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
Work in partnership with families, social workers, education providers, and external professionals.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of care plans and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Participate in team meetings, reviews, and training sessions.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for all young people.
Support the management team in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a residential childcare setting.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Strong leadership and team-working skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices, childcare legislation, and residential care standards.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Own vehicle with business insurance.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
