Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Baby Room Leader to oversee our nursery’s baby room. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with infants and young children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development while ensuring high standards of care and organisation. The Baby Room Leader will be responsible for guiding a team of childcare professionals, planning age-appropriate activities, and maintaining excellent communication with parents and staff. Previous nursery experience and early childhood education qualifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the baby room team, providing guidance and support to ensure quality care
Plan and implement stimulating, developmentally appropriate activities for infants
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery at all times
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and health information
Foster positive relationships with parents, communicating effectively about their child's development and daily routines
Organise daily routines to promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery programmes and best practices
Assist with daily cleaning, organisation of resources, and maintaining a welcoming environment

Skills

Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive experience working with children, particularly infants in a childcare environment
Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and childcare standards
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities
Organised with the ability to plan activities that support developmental milestones
Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or supplies when required
Passionate about providing high-quality care in a nurturing environment

Pay: £28,080.00-£29,120.00 per year
