Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Bar Team Member to join our hospitality team The Black Swan in Gweek, Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. Pay is £12.80 per hour, plus factored holiday pay included in your wages.

Applicant must be 18+ due to the serving of alcohol.

Duties

Prepare and serve drinks, and assist customers with their orders
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
Check identification to verify legal drinking age and adhere to licensing laws
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Restock bar supplies as needed and manage stock levels efficiently
Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere
Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of glassware and equipment

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy hours
Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality who enjoy working in a lively environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Pay: £12.80 per hour
